Post lower temp thermo...worse KR?

i know this is the LS1 forum, but I know too, that the V8 guys seem to know a LOT more in general about engines. My problem is knock retard. Can't hear it, can't feel it, higher octane doesn't kill it, yet it shows up on autotap. This has happened from the time I've put the 180* thermostat in. It's not like it's killing the car's power, i've clocked a 14.92 with few mods. However, I am stumped that the motor is pulling timing.
Harmonics is a question too. I read on ls1tech that a guy just changed out to a paper filter and killed his KR. Is it possible that full induction (FTRA, lid, filter) could cause an odd harmonic vibration that the knock sensor would pick up on?
thanks for any help guys.

Just throwing out an idea...
You can have detonation that is not audible. Detonation/preignition come from hot spots in the cylinder, mainly the combustion chamber. Is it possible that the engine cooling system was not "burped" properly when the new stat was installed, causing hot combustion chambers and some mild inaudible detonation?
FRA, TB bypass, Free stat mod, and the auto fan mod are the things I did to cool my combustion chamber and stop my KR (except on the hottest days).
Just an idea...
Good luck
Dave
