Low coolant

I went to auto x today and had a blast but at the end of the day the low coolant light came on. Never had this happen befor. It was almost 100 degres out and the car was being driven very hard. Should I add a littel coolant befor I go agin tommarow. Or just not wory about itl. If I do have to add some what type do most of you guys use. Sory if there are alot of spelling mistakes I am realy tired and on someone else computer.

Thanks ahead of time
Adam

wait

Check to see if you even need it. Our 99 cars are notorious for bad low coolant sensors. Mine was on from the day I bought the car in Feb. I checked and checked and it was never low for 4 months. Finally I disconnected it and presto-no light . I talked to a lot of people who had this problem and it seems the sensor was eliminated on 2000 and later cars. Wonder why....
