Loudmouth Drone??

I am considering a loudmouth for my '02 Z28 and am wondering if it has a "drone" to it, and if so how bad.

Drone is VERY annoying - I only had mine on 500 miles before I yanked it. If saving a few bucks is your primary concern then I would probably go after the GMMG - but appearance AND sound is a concern of mine and neither of them fit the bill so I went with a Corsa w/premium tips.

If you do go with the LM, I would certainly look into adding a bullet to replace the resonator (help the drone issue), two additional hangers for the tail pipes (stop the tails from moving all over the place at idle - for some reason SLP did not think was necessary to install ) AND some decent looking tips...but then again some don't mind the drone or the 'swinging' pipes or the 'blah' tips or ...... .

Thumbs up

The drone was a little annoying at first, but you get used to it.
A Loudmouth is the best thing I've gotten for my car, I love it!
You can always turn the radio up to drown out the drone, but it really isn't that bad.

the drone is not bad if you have a 6 speed... The bullet replacing the resonator helps a little.. not much, but a little.

The only time it gets REALLY annoying if your diong about 75-85 mph on the highway with stock gears in 6th..

Geez, has anyone heard the saying, if its too loud your too old. In my car I have NO problem with the drone. I actually like to hear my car driving around town. It's not loud enough to be deafening at all. You also can't beat the price or the look of the dual tips. Best exhaust in my book, and I've heard true duals and the borla.

I notice that the exhaust is loud between 1800-2000 rpm but I can still talk and hear the radio without a problem. I don't really consider it a drone sound but I guess that is what many others talk about. It does not bother me at all and I could not live without the sound of my LM now.

At WOT, it sounds like the world is going end but that is that best part.

For the most part, I enjoy the sound of my exhaust. I like to travel from Socal to Vegas (About 300 miles) and during the 4 hour trip it can get a little loud. Has anyone tried Dynamat Extreme or any other form of material to cut the amount of drone? I have been playing with this idea for a while.

When I first got my LM I hated the drone, but I got used to it. The only time I hate it is when I go on long trips. Also people say to put a bullet in place on the resonator, but the dynomouth exaust is what that is.

Talking

Yes, there is drone from about 1600-2000 rpms with my headers and LM. Doesn't bother me a bit and I'm not exactly young. The LM sounds pretty good at WOT and I don't regret buying it at all.
