How loud do you want it. That's the differance between 1 and 2. I think 1 comes with a resonator and 2 comes with a muffler. 1 should be louder.

I have a Loudmouth 1 on my 02 Z28 and I love it, but its LOUD.
People will tell you it drones, and it rasps, or it pops, but personally I love it. It doesn't sound raspy at all (to me), and I only hear "pops" on the 1-2 shift at WOT.
As for the drone, it's definitely there, especially around 2k rpm, but its not overpowering as people lead you to believe. I still find myself able to hold conversations with passengers, and listen to the radio even with windows open, and t-tops off.

The only time it's really annoying is when you're at about 75+mph (and you're staying there), or if you keep the revs high. Then the noise starts to overpower everything.
Also in the early morning. That's really the only time I dislike it. On a cold start, the sound is easily 2-3x louder than after the engine warms up and I KNOW my neighbors can hear it.

I cant give you any insight about the LM2, but for reference, heres a picture comparing the insides of the 2. The LM1 is a "resonator" but is essentially a straight pipe, where as a LM2 is somewhat closer to a traditional muffler, but straight through.

Best sound true duals hands down. Even on a stock car I'm sure it would sound good.

I'm running a G5x2 and just switched from an ORY/GMMG which had rasp like mad to the TSP dual setup with bullets. Noise isn't /that/ much louder, but it sounds 100x better.

If you just plan on staying fairly stock though as long as you keep a cat'd Ypipe it shouldn't sound too bad.......

I have a 98 Z28 and the LM1 was on it when I bought it. The axle hits it or rubs it and it rattles at every stop light. I have tightened and tightened the bands and with in one round trip drive to work (70 miles) it's loose. Can't wait to get something new BETTER. good luck!!

Sounds like someone put a hacked up LM pn your car. It is a slip fit design, if memory serves, and if installed well should not be giving you those issues.

I had an annoying rattle on mine too, in the same place. It pissed me off to no end, every time I accelerated from a stop. I had to get a local shop to shorten the pipe a bit between the I-pipe and the over-axle pipe, and then weld it in place (I gave up on the clamps). Since then, no rattling at all. You might be able to fix yours by simply jamming those two pieces together harder and clamping it again.

dunno where you're located, but SLP is in New Jersey, so estimate delivery time from east coast.

LOL I have the same problem with mine as well.

I heated up the brace w/ an acetylene torch and bent it down some, was able to get enough clearance that way so I don't hear anything unless I slam a pothole or something.

I also have the slip problem where the muffler meets the pipe behind it. I'm probably going to just weld a couple of small spots on each side to keep it from moving. I already tightened it as much as I could, any more and the clamp will just break.

I also had issues w/ the tips clearing the rear bumper lip (has oem body kit), had to do some cutting/welding back there too.

I figured an SLP exhaust would be pretty straightforward but it was actually very frustrating. I'm glad I was able to use a hoist and had a sawzall and welder on hand; couldn't imagine doing it in the driveway...

I guess I'm a little too late. I was going to say not to waste your money. Both systems sound absolutely horrible. If you stay catback ONLY, the Loudmouth 2 may not be so bad, but once you open up the rest of the exhaust it WILL sound like complete, raw, nasty ***. You, like everyone else who bought it, WILL regret it.

You mentioned something about the best exhaust? Well, I can't tell you what is THE best, but I can tell you that the SLP LM1 and LM2 are by far the worst. But if you want your car to sound like a beat up 70s F-series with a poorly tuned carb and straight pipes, go for it!

should have went magnaflow or hooker cat back... i have the LM1 on my camaro and just swapped the resonator for a moroso spiral flow, cheap fix and the rasp and *** sound is gone. but my ta with LT's and a hooker CB sounded mellow at idle and cruising and deep on WOT.. magnaflow is good b/c it is all stainless and sounds good, little bit of rasp, but thats partly due to the acoustics of an all aluminum engine.. just my .02
