Question Loud clank when going over bumps. 98 TA Cause?

My friends 98 has a loud clunk when going over bumps. When riding in the back seat it seams to be in-between the two seats. What could be the cause, and fix?

My 99 was doing the same thing, I lifted the car and found that the lower control arms were moveable by hand. I tightened them up and it is all good.

jellokiller, got the same damn clank. I want to know what it is. I have heard shocks, panhard bar, the car came off the lift crooked, all sorts of funny ideas. I checked into them and cant figure it out. Mine is not consistant either, if you figure it out send me a message

I also am having the same sound going over a bump, I have narrowed it down to the rear driver side, sounds like there something loose in the suspension. even the performance shop said its common for f-b's but I think he's full of ****.

Mine seems to be the same as MARSTAUT's the only i see that could be doing it is the pan hard bar. But it and its bushing all appear to be intact. I too have been told is common for age on F-bodies. Actually i posted a thread about the problem and on guy said he was almost positive it was the panhard bar and just to go ahead and replace the bushings anyway. He said it took his problem away. So when it gets a little warmer i'll replace them and see what happens.

I know its not the panhard cause I just replacied it with a hochkins, and I also have BMR lower control arms---so I don't know what it could be making that damn noise.
