He's thinkin of the older hurst *****/handles I've seen'em.I dont' think that will be the one you get w/ the hurst shifter for your T5. Still prob option for the older cars its aluminum or magnesium

I had a t handle on my 81Z for a few days. It was a BW super t10 (4 speed) tranny I believe and a buddy was trying to sell the T handle he had to me. The 1-2 shift was great, like pulling a drawer open, the 2-3 is where I found difficulty, I think I did more damage to that tranny in those few days than all the years I had the car. Some guys really like the t handle...not me.

I love mine, the 2-3 shift isnt any trouble while racing, just throw your shoulder into it a bit. Theres absoletely no change of your hand slipping off either. 2t thumbs of here.

I thought about an oldschool Hurst or B & M T-handle for my car, But i feared the 2-3 shift. My question is, any of you guys know where to get a classic hurst shift ball with the inlaid shift patern that will fit on the borg warner trannys? I contacted the Hurst people and 3 times they sent a shift ball that was way too small each time swearing it would fit. I knew a kid who drilled his out and re-tapped to fit, but it took two tries, and at 30 bucks a pop i'm not up waste one.

Summit sells them for like $27 or so.

T handle on a manual, that is one retarded idea.
I'm laughing at the idea of some goober doing this. even the ***** look retarded IMO. The stock hurst or the corvette shifter are sweet. stick with those.

You are the only person I have come across that thinks the old style t-handles in old chevelles and camaros are "goober" like. You will never lose a grip or miss a shift with the T, I have personal experience with this car, and a 70 Chevelle. BTW if your worried about the 2-3 shift with a T, get a shorter throw because apparently it is too long of a throw.

Unless summit is gonna drill out the hurst shift ball it wont fit the T-5. I tried ordering it from them after the Hurst people couldnt get it rightm same luck. If anyone has every seen the magazine ad of the Carl Black Perfromance BlackBird (2002) only fifty made, they have a classic black shift ball in the ad. Thats the one i want but maybe in white.
