looking for advice
I have a 98z and i have two problems I am looking for advice on. #1. Driving down the road the car follows the dips in the road. It's like you drive down the highway and if the road has a groove in it my car wanders to the right or left. The dealership told me this is normal with the wider tires. I don't believe this is normal and I find it very annoying.
#2. When I turn doing a full lock to the right I hear a noise in the right rear, it sounds like a tire scrapping on the body type of sound.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The dealer isn't blowing smoke up your @ss .... the wider tires are what's causing your car to follow the ridges/grooves in the road.
I've got 275 meat on my WS6 and some roads will almost try to jerk the wheel out of your hands. People that put 315's all around really talk about it.
As for your other problem, hmmm ... did you put 315's on your car?

i have found that with wider wheels they do fit the indentions caused by cars with smaller tires. What happenns is that the tireswill kind of move from side to side b/c they don't fit those grooves. Also about that noise your hearing might wanna have them check that. It could be your posi. I have heard some people having issues with that depending on how you drive.

Yea when i have my 315s on the rear, she pulls like hell from side to side when on certain roads. As far as the noise, check your rotor to see if the caliper is scrapeing the rotor in the right rear. I had 315s on my 95z and without using an adjustable panhard, so the passenger side was much tighter than the driverside. My best guess is that when the tires hit the wheel-well it was pulling on the axel hard. eventually i had to shim the caliper out cause it was tearing the rotor up. Tighter turns when going slow i'd hear a screeching noise.
Yes the wider the tire the worse it is. Mine has 315's and it is horrible now. It follows all the grooves and sometimes it hits the inner fender and makes that sound you are talking about. Either tough it out or get skinny tires
Especially when you have good gripping tires.
I had BFG KD and sold them cause the junky PA
roads didn't mate well with them. The car would
pull all over the place and I had to drive with both
hands alot. Got the KDWS and don't have as much
of a problem. Sucks to not be able to use better tires.
Thanks PennDOT

As all have said the wandering is normal.
Have you rear end serviced. It might be low on oil or the oil may need to be changed. The 98s have an Auburn clutch type posi and the manual calls for it to be serviced every 15,000 miles. 2 quarts of lube and a bottle of GM posi additive.

Wandering is definately normal...I just went from 245s with almost no wandering to 275s and holy smokes I didn't think it'd be that much of a difference...but even as bad as it is now its still not as bad as it was on my IROC...that car was crazy when it came to wandering.
