Long tube headers

I was thinking about getting long tube headers but i want to get your guy's imput first. I have two quick questions:
1. What are the best long tube headers out there? The most reliable and durable which produce the max torque and hp?

2. If I were to get long tube headers, how much am I lookin to spend to do it right(not some okay job, but the best way for your money, you know what I mean)?

Thanks for everyones input.

There are a number of good headers out. The PPC, Hooker, Thunder Racing, FLP, & TTS designs are very popular. However the new stainless steel QTP design looks like the way to go IMO. As far as just the headers w/installation, 02 simms, and Y-pipe w/o cats is concerned...you're looking at spending in the ballpark of about $1500 give or take. I have no idea how much installation would be as I do all my own stuff, but from the horror stories I've heard about installing headers on an LS1, it sounds like it could get pricey.

If you car is lowered, go with the Hooker or Jet Hot LT's- they have the best ground clearance. As for the install, it is really not that bad-the driver's side is a bit of a pain, but the passenger side was a breeze. I have the Hooker LT's and ORY pipe, and my car dyno'd 345 rwhp/367 tq- I was glad I spent the $ on them...and the LT's, ORY and O2 simms were all of $650 total...not bad at all!!

Just wondering how you know this? Is this something that you have heard from someone else or have personal experience with? I am not challenging your statement but just want to know how accurate it is as I plan to go with Jet-Hot's LTs and my car is lowered.
