Lifter noise.....any cures?

Thought that I would just shoot this out there.

I am getting what sounds to be a lifter noise from my engine. It mostly happens at startup and sometimes I here it as well after running for awhile.

Performing an oil change in the car seems to actually cure it for a few hundred miles after the change, but it will eventually return.

The engine has 80k miles on it.

Anyone else hearing this? And if so, are there any cures for it? Thanks alot for any input.

Re: Lifter noise.....any cures?

Right now, I am using Mobil 1 10w30 syth with a FRAM (normal) oil filter. I tried a 20W50 oil for a time with the same filter, but it did nothing to help.

I did replace the o-ring (as per GM tech bulletin) and that really seemed to help it for a little while. And, its weird, cause right after a new oil change, the sound does really appear to be gone, but after say under 1000 miles, it comes back.
