I just purchased a 02 z28 with k&n box replacement filter. i was looking on line at some high flo lids then i saw my filter for $350. Should i keep it?what are the power gains on it ?are will a lid produce more power?

 

if you have the fipk, or whatever its called, keep it. a lid on a stock airbox w/k&n might give you up to 10rwhp, but realistically 5-7

 

I would get a lid if you don't have one. You will feel better throttle response.

 

is this the intake you have?



if so you won't see any gains from going with a lid.

if all you have is the k&n filter under the stock lid....DEFINATELY get a lid.

Thats it ! can i add the slp cold air scoop thats in front of the radiator on this or is it needed. i had a cold air intake on my lt1 that went under neat the car inside the front bumper cover

 

the slp cold air scoops sucks... it steals radiator air, try the ssra, but i dont think it will work since you need to seal your air box for you to get the ram air effect on it

 

correct the SSRA or similar setups dont' work with the K&N or volant intakes i don't think.

but if you get a ultra Z hood your system will work great.
