Knock sensor codes after complete sensor R&R
Knock sensor codes after complete sensor R&R
I was getting 1-4* of random knock from 2000RPM all the way to redline. Since my car is a '98, I bought new knock sensors and harnesses.
The harnesses come with the clip which attaches to the knock sensor locator, but the other end is just wire. So I splice the new white wires onto the old green/blue wires, crimp it down, and heat the rubber sheath to seal the splice.
Put everything back together and take it for a ride. Any time I would go WOT, I'd get 4* of knock. Nothing in between...either 0 or 4. I don't hear any knock.
Hmm, no code after about 30 minutes of driving. So I stop by and add 5gal of 104 unleaded gas to my tank (1/4 full at that time, raised to 5/8 full after adding 104). Soon after adding the fuel and heading back home, the SES light turns on. P0327 & P0332 are stored.
So what did I screw up in the process? What should I be checking on the wiring and/or knock sensors to find the cause of the codes?
