Question Knock Sensor???

I have a 98 SS (stock) with 75K miles. It's been throwing Knock sensor codes since the Katrina thing. I thought I got some bad gas...but I get it at the same place for past several years. Question is where is the knock sensor located?

Another question. I live in the Tampa Bay area, where might I get the M6 overhauled? I believe it needs syncros, shifting forks and possible third gear?

Thanks.

Re: Knock Sensor???

There are acutall two knock sensors and they are underneath the intake manifold in the valley.

Once the manfiold is removed you will see the harness going to them, use some needle nose pliers to pinch the connectors and remove the harness.

From there remove the sensors, and re-install new ones. 15ft/lb is the spec.

As for the trans, I'm afraid I'm no good to you there.

Re: Knock Sensor???

Since you have a '98, you'll need to pull the sensors before you order new ones to find out which ones you have. There were 2 versions in '98, one had like a water bottle nipple connector and the other style had a standard clip connection. I have a '98 as well and I ordered the wrong sensors when I did my LS6 swap.
