I also didn't hear any difference with a lid.

The SS hood's scoop is in a low pressure area so I doubt it makes much if any noise. I can't hear a difference in comparison of my SS with the Z's I've ridden in. Granted they all have aftermarket exhausts and I have tinnitus.

Stand outside of a SS or a WS6 noise doese come out of the scoop/nostrils.

" It's a low pressure area " Ummmm. OK

So do you ride inside or outside your car?

Has anyone ever just taken out the baffles on a stock lid? it seems all the difference is is no baffles or is this wrong?

I have a special seat the mounts just above my wheel wells. It's quite fun until it rains or there are alot of bugs.

Or

I just have someone rev my car up while I stand in front of it.

Re: Just put my SLP lid on had a question

I took a dremel tool to the baffles on the stock lid, but never dyno'ed to see if it helped. In addition to the baffles in the lid, you've also got to look at the small oval opening vs. the large round opening of an aftermarket lid. I'm running a MTI lid and have no complaints.

As for the air silencers .... I never noticed a difference, although I guess my WS6 hood should make a sucking sound or something.

I have the SLP lid on my car along with an SSRA setup and I didn't notice any sound difference after the install.

I drive my SS from the inside.

I've driven next to both SS/WS6 and Formula/TA/Z28 w/my windows down and have heard nothing but engine/exhaust noise.

Yes, its in a low pressure area, as in the airflow is deflected OVER it. Apparently you haven't seen many if any windtunnel tests on cars.

Where can we see a wind tunnel test online? I think it would be nice to see just how the f-bod, does in one.

Re: Just put my SLP lid on had a question

Can one of you please tell me what the fu*k this low pressure has to do with anything?

Can you read? That has nothing to do with hearing intake noise through it at all. So quit trying to sound smart.

The awesome high dollar designed hood on my 1993 cavalier does the same thing i.e. transfers intake noise outside.
