A tune will net you an outrageous number once that cam's in. It will be a NECESSITY. I'd hold off the tune till that cam's in, but you might see a 50hp increase with the tune.

Re: Just Dynoed... Sound about right?

boy...400 will really be pushing it i think

i dynoed about 400 (or would have) and i am running a much bigger cam.

i think you'd hit 380 after the tune.

Re: Just Dynoed... Sound about right?

hang on...a bit confused...

was that dyno graph with the cam installed or before???

if it is after, there is no way a tune will get you 55hp!!! a tune on my 233 cam yielded 10hp peak.

lol dude if i dynoed 345 with a cam my car would be the worlds biggest slug. Read my sig. Cam is not installed yet. And i don't see why 400 can't be pushed. They got 400 out of the 224/224-112 this cam isn't much different. Either way it will also be seeing a 100 shot =)

no way man, ur car will get a whole **** load faster with a better tune. U should hit up JD's with me once i get the cam installed. hes got an ls1 tuner there that is supposively one of the best in the country. Its located in Hundington Valley.

rumor has it that the guy from jd's (brian or bernard, whatever his name is) is hooking up with the guy that dyno'ed our cars and will be tuning the cars cheaper than at jd's. ill pm you with the details later

Re: Just Dynoed... Sound about right?

I'm in a very similar situations as you, last weekend I dynoed my car at 334, with a lid, headers, and 3" borla. It may have dynoed a little higher, b/c the guy said it was hitting the REV limiter at around 5500 RMPs, he said it may be hitting there b/c the SES light was on, from the headers. Later I realized he might have been hitting my Speed limiter at 116 or so. Not sure. But, I'm also putting in a cam later this month, its a 230. In addition, I'm installing the LS6 intake manifold, ASP UD pulley, 160 therm, upgraded fuel injectors & spark plugs, Oil pump, Timing chain, and a professional tune from Rapid MotorSports, whose also installing everything. Should put me in the high 300s. rwhp.

you were just leaving when 97ta showed up and him and i got lunch and left when his car was done. few more showed up after i left but dont know who. so i dont think i met my quota. i offered dale a check for the differance but he didnt want it. he kinda expected that with forum hype. nice guy. so you got stuck with the 118 speed limiter? tune will wipe that right out. i need to line up against you or stylezta to see how i fare against a m6. maybe we can do a before and after cam. when you having the work done?

Re: Just Dynoed... Sound about right?

well...i just kindda believe real world dyno results.

i mean..

according to TSP, they made 415hp or so with stock heads and boltons with my cam.

well i've got most of the bolt ons, stock heads, 58K miles and a dyno tune (bit conservative) and only got 382hp...

i think i've seen TR claim near 400 with the 224...but really...i don't see that happen in real world much.

yes it could...probably does...but not often.
get my point?

EDIT
did a search here is the thread
seems kindda strange that with similaar mods they got 40 more hp than my car. i mean...a HOT tune can do alot...but THAT much?

granted my clutch was slipping a bit, but all i wanted was 400 at the wheels...and i came well short of that.

we'll see what happens when i get some stg 2 LS6 head

Yea, Rapid said he's going to take care of the limiter for me. And whenever you want to meet up to run against each other to see how we fair against one another just let me know. Stylezta are you the guy with the WS6, who dynoed right before me? Should have the cam in the next two/three weeks, just waiting for all the parts to come in.
