iron block 6.0 swap
iron block 6.0 swap
How much of a bitch is it to swap in a 6.0 out of a truck into a 98 TA. I would like to do this and add ls6 intake, cam it, and ported ls6 heads. Any major problems or concerns here?
Those of you that have done a 6.0 block swap please chime in.
Thanks

you wouldn't really gain much over the LS1 block. a few more cubes is about it.
conversely you'll be adding 100lbs to the front of your car.
if you want more cubes you're better off going with a decent stroker short block. a nice aluminum block 382ci would work nicely with a fat 24x cam and ported heads

Like stated there isnt that much of a point, i did it in my 99 b/c the ls1 threw a rod and i got a good price on the 6.0, everything on your ls1 will swap over, you do need to drill one hole for an alternator bolt, i would recommend using higher compression heads on it, the stock lq4's were only 9.5:1 and the lq9 were 10:1.
