Installing SFC's

I want to get a set of SFC's, I'll probably go with the boxed BMR weld-in's. I would like to do the install myself since my father bought a welder, but we don't have a lot of experience welding. I viewed BMR's online instructions and it doesn't look that hard to do, or is there more to it? Should I do the work myself or look for someone to do it for me? Does the install require removing anything inside the car such as the carpet? Will I have to reposition any fuel lines? Thanks for your advice.

I'd practice before you start on this. Go to home depot and get some steel plates, and practice on that.

Once you're good, go at the car. Its pretty simple- jut make sure the surfaces are clean. There is already a shield for the fuel line, so you should be fine.

The carpet should not be a problem either. Just remember that is it there and becareful of how much you weld in a certain spot. If you mix it up some with the welding you will not have any problems at all. Just make sure you have a way to get the car level AND under load. I installed my SFCs with the help of a friend and my fiances dad (he did the welding). We just used 4 identical ramps so the car was sitting up in the air but was level and under load. Also if you are thinking about doing LCAs now is a perfect time. Is is so easy to do the SFCs and LCAs at the same time, that is what I did.

But I would agree with Mikael, get some practice first!!
