Talking Installed Loudmouth.. A few things to say about it

First of all, the install wasn't too bad. Just working the factory pipe out took awhile. I do have to say I was surprised by the sound, though not the way everyone else was surprised. You see, I had a 97 WS6 with a cutout and it was wayyy louder--at least on the inside it was. But it's got a good note nonetheless and SLP shipped it to my door for $340. To anyone who's interested!

Just wondering, how many decibels does the loudmouth put out when idle? I'm considering buying one

Thumbs up

Couldn't tell ya as far as decibels... But I haven't owned an f-body yet or any car for that matter, that sounds like this one at idle.

SpecForceZ28;

It's actually pretty tame at idle. It gets quite loud at WOT though. Someone posted a site to some sound clips comparing CORSA, LM, FLOWMASTER, and CORBA a while back. I'll try to find the link and post it again.

I have a couple sound files on my site of both the factory TA exhaust and the Loudmouth from my car:

I took my sound level meter out to measure it for you today. I used a "C" weighting on the slow responce setting. The meter was three feet behind the car and three feet from the ground.

At idle in park: 85db
At idle in gear(drive):84db
At 1000 rpm in park: 91 db

I didn't want to rev it up much more since I was in my driveway and I didn't want to get the neighbors mad at me, again.

I am very happy with the sound and extra SOTP power that the LM gave me.
