I was buying the hood for appearance mainly but I am considering not buying the hood and spending the money on other mods now that I found a cool decal stripe set that looks good on RA or non RA hood.

If I had the ram air hood and then closed the 1-2" gap how would that hp increase compare to ssra? I still like the RA hood idea for better piece of mind when it rains (I hear there is a risk of hydrolock with ssra). Still not sure which way to go but I am definately getting tsp lid and holly filter

The chance of hydrolocking is overated. If you walk outside to get in your car and see that it's going to rain, or it is raining, put in a block off. If your driving and it starts raining, stop and seal it up.
Simple enough.
