Post Idle at 500 rpm?

Is it normal for a 99 SS to idle at 500 rpm, my car before this was a 98 V6 Camaro which idled at 900.

white 98 V6 A4 3.8l Camaro, t-tops, Leather, JVC stereo, Pioneer speakers, xeneon headlights, power antenna, dynomax muffler, K&N air filter, custom ram air, and a whisper lid. (sold 7-13-02 to my brother) now my car is a 99 Camaro SS with all the bells and whistles.

Mine idles at 600 but then again sometimes our tachs are off. If it isn't stumbling don't worry about it.

Mine idles around 650-700. If it sounds fine it probably is. Autotap will tell you the actual idle speed.

Cool

Mine idled at 900 until I changed plugs/wires and now it idles at about 600.I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Was it idling at 900rpm with the A/C on? I’m having the same problem with my 2015 camaro, about a week ago I was parked and I notice a shift in the idle speed . Mines now idles at 900rpm with the A/C and when it’s off it’s back to 500rpm. Should I also replace my spark plugs/wires. Or is it something else. My car is at 80k

You're in the 4th Gen (up to 2002) engine section. You need to post in 5th Gen Tech. Unfortunately, not many 5th Gen members on this site.

You also need to indicate the specific engine and trans in your Camaro. Idle RPM is different for manual and automatic transmissions.
