I have the PPIII on my '01 Z28. I had it set then de-programmed it after reading some posts on this forum that it could actually deminish performance and power. I noticed a difference w/o the PPIII settings, so I went back to a +2, +2, +0 shift settings with a 6400 rev limit and 50% shift firmness. I like it better again!
Not a HUGE difference, but then again I'm not a hard, hard core speed guy like some here are.
Just my $.02.....

I had a HPP3 and like Predator much better with custom tunning and you can monitor your car.
I used the HPP3 for gears/shift points/shift firmness/fans and it worked fine. Never tried the tune. If you don't want to spend a lot and just want to use it like I did you can find them for sale for $150-$175 used, just ensure they've returned their car to stock before buying.
Not worth it IMHO. Predator is a better deal for a hundred bucks more. LS1-edit is the best out there but it's pricey and you need a laptop which I don't have so I'll eventually get a predator. It'll be so nice to read and delete SES codes without bothering the fine folks at autozone (hehe).
Just my 2 cents.
Just my 2 cents.
