hypertech programmer?
Have one, wondering how it is going to be of advantage to me and what I should do. I have a m6. Thanks.
Moderator: feel free to move it to programming board. (Figured those guys would flame me for asking such a crappy question)

Coogs,
NOT a crappy question IMO, but it has been addressed a few times here before. I purchased the HyperTech PPIII for my '01 Z28. I came across a thread by "chevyzman1998" that asked about good setting for same. A reply from "rncotton" stated:
1-2 shift +2
2-3 shift +2
3-4 shift +4
shift firmness: 50%
Rev limit-- 6400
RNcotton posted those #'s, stating that HyperTech themselves were using his car for some testing and those are the settings they used. He figured they knew what they were doing. Sounds reasonable.
Another member ("Capn Pete"), posted +2,+3,+0 @6500 with 100% shift firmness numbers, respectively.
Try each out for a week or so and see what you like, or reset to settings that suit you.
Good luck,
Daryl

With a M6 tranny, you won't get much use out of the HPP. Actually, when you do the programming, you probably won't feel much of a difference. LS1 Edit is a better choice for the M6 folks.
On my A4 2001 Z28, the difference was night and day, plus I picked up 14 RWHP. Unfortunately, I never got that car to the track before it was wrecked.
On my M6 2001 WS6, the car was a little worse with the tuning installed. It pinged over 3500 RPM, and was .2 slower in the 1/4 mile due to the computer pulling timing to compensate for the detonation.
I still use the HPP on the WS6, but only for the fan turn on temp, raising the rev limiter, and calibrating the speedo for the 4.11 gears.
