Hypertech PP3 setup on Autos

I was told be a guy in a car meet for 2000 LS1 A4 this is a good setup:

1-2 shift +2
2-3 shift +3
3-4 shift +0

Rev Limit -- 6500

Shift Firmness 100%

I need some advice on if this is good (100% firmness[to harsh for trans?])

Please give your advice from the mods I have, Thanks

Cool

Those settings are pretty much identical to what I've got mine set to as well. As far as I know, there's no problem setting the firmness to 100%...........all it's doing is increasing the line pressure to the different shift bands (or whatever the heck is inside an automatic controlling the shifts?! ) but it's basically like "electronically" adding a shift kit. I personally like the firmer shifts.

Judging by your mods though, you *might* soon be into custom programming or tuning to get full advantage of your mods (in particular, long tubes and increased air intake size).

good setup mines at +2 +4 +0 and as stated before, if you get into more mods custom tune is the way to go

In a post entitled, "shifting question inside", chevyzman1998 asked about, a member by the name of "rncotton" replied with this:
"on the '01 z28 I used to have, HyperTech themselves set it up as follows:
1-2 shift +2
2-3 shift +2
3-4 shift +4

Rev limit -- 6400

Shift firmness 50%

They were using his car for some testing and that's the way that HyperTech set it up, so he felt they ought to know what was right.

Hope this helps,
Daryl

PS- I reset my '01 Z28 from stock settings to the above and it seems pretty good. But try these and the one's the other guys have mentioned and see what suits your tastes! Later.
