hypertech powerstat wont fit????????

Unhappy hypertech powerstat wont fit????????

I have a 2002 camaro ss with an ls1 i got the hypertech powerstat part #1014 but it wont fit the thermostat is to big to fit whats going on i need help

There is a certain way the stat fits into the housing.. It slides under a couple tabs IIRC...

Would that be the problem? I got a new housing w/ mine..

EDIT; just looked at my stocker.. The install should be fool proof..

i got the housing as well but it wont fit man the metal part that hold the thermostat are too wide

Did you any or a previous owner change out the waterpump? If so then you need a different thermostat. The newer ls1 water pumps are different. You can get the correct thermostat from Slp or Jegs. This one http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...0002_316698_-1

Yep, the 1014 won't fit the new style replacement water pumps.
