Hp increase ?
Start with the basics, but the first thing i would do is a nice tune up.
- Change oil, i use synthetic.
- Flush the cooling system.
- Flush transmission
- Change differential fluid, don't forget to add the LSD additive.
- Plugs and wires, us board members highly recommend NGK TR55.
- Check air filter
My next thing would be the "free mods" which could add up to 10rwhp, here's the link http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...ons/index.html Take care of those and then start deciding on a new exhaust, if you already have SLP exhaust then decide on some headers. Good luck

I agree with J6 that the preventive maintenance should be taken care of first and foremost.
I also am in agreement that free mods are worth the time, plus they are free
Next on my list would be a set of gears.

after all the above mentioned things
lid
catback or cutout
suspension (pwer is great, but if all you do is spin...thats not great)
headers
dyno tune
what are your goals...short and long term? major upgrades or just stuff you can do in your driveway for some more play-power?

Auto or Manual?
If you have an A4 1st mod should be a SS3600 (or equiv) Torque Converter. I know it's a pain to drop the tranny, but it's almost like hitting it with a 50 shot (difference wise). That converter is what these cars should have come from the factory with!

Its an auto and im not sure what torque converters thoose trannys come with but yeah dropping the trans sucks but what kind of torque converter would u reccomend i change it with ? and yeah they just rebuilt the tran when i bought it and they didnt replace the trany mount so i gotta do that soon to
You sure you want 4.10 gears? What intentions do you have with the car? Take it a little slow, you're going from heads to gears to suspension etc. etc. Let me help you out some, first thing:
1) What are the intentions for the car, street, street/strip, track only, autocross.
2) Work one section at a time, remember keep it simple. Worry about exhaust first, then you can move to suspension mod or drivetrain etc. etc.
Don't overwhelm yourself with all these different mods, let us know what your plans are and we'll go from there.

3.73 is a good gear for these cars and an A4. I wouldn't go 4.10 on the street.
Speedinc has this stuff as well. Free shipping on orders over $100.00. Get motor mounts and do those when you do the header swap.
Um probley mostly street/strip but i wanna run it on the tracks to sometimes and what rear gears come stock with these cars ? and for exhaust which im planning on doing soon i was thinking full borla catback exhaust good yes or no ?
If it's an auto you more than likely have 2.73 gears. Borla's are pretty good, if it's sound you're looking for then Corsa is the way to go but they are a little pricey. For headers i would definitely go with pacesetter LT's, speed engineering has them on sale right now for $274 non coated here's the link http://speed-eng.com/store/pacesette...gr-p-3067.html.
