How will a stock 2001 F-body do against a 1st gen Viper?

Having driven an RT-10.... I was easily spinning the tires well into 3rd gear w/o out even flooring it. The Viper was a '97 I think and with 3K miles on it I was very impressed.It felt like I was driving a Honda when I hopped back into my LT1 Camaro. Now my LS1 feels fast but I always remember that Viper gluing me to my seat and spinning the crap out of those wide meats! They just cost too much!

No contest with any Viper with a stock F-body
any year. Save the wear and tear on your car and let it go. If you think you can beat a Viper, keep DREAMING!!

Let's just say that you won't wonder what Viper taillights look like unless the Viper driver screws up real bad.

I saw stock first gen run 7.5 sec in the 1/8 with nothing but drag radials. He ran this consistently all night.

First Gen - with the sidepipes.

I ran one with the mods below. I beat him off the line by two lengths, and up to 100 mph, he gained one length on me. Technically I beat him, but only because of my launch. 'Course, then I got beat by an M5 the same way...

Forget it against a 450 hp Viper... never tried, but that's only because the drivers so rarely will race.
