How will a stock 2001 F-body do against a 1st gen Viper?

Post How will a stock 2001 F-body do against a 1st gen Viper?

Wondering how, in the quarter the stocl 350 HP F-body does Vs the 1'st gen Snake. How bout with a lid/catback?

well if the guy can't drive, it might be close. But if he can, then you will be a sec or so behind him.

Actually they are rated at 310, but it is pretty widely accepted that this is heavily underrated. Most LS1's dyno at around 300rwhp.

A full second with a lid and catback....even though the 1st gen viper is 400HP and the lid/catback combo on the F-body is good for 375-385HP. Were the Vipers underrated back then like the F-body?

The LS1 F body puts out about 340-350-HP. S and WS6 about 0-10 more and the "345 HP" combo SS and HAwk put out 375-385 HP. GM underrates the cars as not to **** off Vette owners and for insurance reasons.

With my lid and the stock dual/dual, I ran into one on some nice open road (Nimitz Hwy) and we went from a dig. I pulled on him in 2nd and 3rd gears before shutting it down just before 4th. I ended up about 1 and a half cars ahead. The guy is a friend of mine and I know he can drive his RT10. The first gens are nowhere near as fast as the later RT's and GTS models. They are by no means slow though......

Well i attended alot of Vipers dyno. The GenI viper put around 355RWHP and 430RWTQ. Thats is alot of Power if u ask me. My car did put down 325RWHP and 338RWTQ, i dont think i would be able to take GENI viper with those mods. U will need LT's, pulleys and hope that he doesnt know how to drive. I saw alot of GENI running 12.6's at 115MPH. Sometimes 13.0 with a really bad driver, but the trapspeed is still 115. In street racing you should pay attention to the trapspeed more than the ET time. Try it for fun though, ur not losing anything.

It all comes down to the driver. I have seen a late model Lamborghini run high 13s and late model Viper GTSs run low 13s in the 1/4 mile. You never know. I mean your car is obviously no slouch either dude. Don't under-estimate your cars power.

I've seen a rather new Viper run 17s at PMI...SEVERAL TIMES. Granted the altitude gives him an extra second, that is still rediculous. I hope I find that car on the street sometime when I'm on a date so I can impress her with my Viper murdering skill.

It'd be close for awhile then u'd probably start getting pulled up top...as far as I know they run in the upper 12's solidly, rather then the rarity of a LS1 doing it stock.

I raced a viper while my car was stock. I bet if anybody was watching they probably thought i wasn't trying thats how badly I lost. Now... I want to see that same dude and show him whats up.
