How much would a cam do for me
Okay, I've done some research so I wouldn't have to post "what does a cam do", I think I have a pretty good idea of how it works.
So my question is, how much would I benefit from a cam swap...my mods are below. I read that cams work great with exhaust work. I have duals, but are headers a necessity for good gains on the cam swap? I also read something about an aggressive cam not being very functional in the winter? Something about the car not being able to remain at an idle when it's cold? I kinda skimmed through that part, but thanks in advance to anyone with a response.

Actually, it all depends...A mild cam can range anywhere from 25-35 hp. If you have headers then you will yield mor hp. YOu have to be careful because some cams, especially since you have a ls1, you might need to get some custom tunning, to eliminate idle hesitation, bogs, and your SES light turned on. I personally have a Compcam in mine, and I love it. It's a very aggressive cam, with a killer lope. And it has a pretty broad power range throughout the RPM band. Remember, if you swap out your cam, your more than likely need to change out you springs and pushrods. The stock pieces wont hold up.

Sounds like quite a bit of hassle, especially for a daily driver. I may look into a supercharger first
Thanks for the info man

Take a look at these cam setups here
http://ls1info.com/camstats/showdata.php
There is lots of information there and
you may be able to narrow down your search
for the cam that fits you and your setups.

Good luck
Go with the cam, it has great power gains and a noticeable difference in throttle response among other things. I have a TR 224/224 112lsa as a daily driver and love it! It's the best mod I've done so far for the car hands down.

TA2001,
Thanks for the link, but I have no idea what all that stuff means. I really know nothing about cars. I did some research on cams, but the info on that site is kinda above me.
I'm trying to learn all I can though
