How many qrts of tranny fluid does a ls1 hold?

How many qrts of tranny fluid does a ls1 hold?
Im changing my transmission fluid, i need to know how many quarts it holds to add and whats the 'best' kind.... (from auto zone)

ATF is ATF
Are you going synthetic? That may be the only thing to consider. As for quantity.. Its in your owners manual. Keep in mind your TC will still have fluid in it that you cant get out so you will me mixing.. but its ok..
I used synthetic ATF in my M6. Again, I would see nothing that would lead me to one syn over another but I would choose synthetic over dino.
