how to gut the cats?
how to gut the cats?
what will I have to know to do this? I know I will need some 02simms. I am getting a code for" catylist efficency below threshold" so I figured this would fix the problem. am I going in the right path?
thanks,
mike

The cats are warranted for 8 years and 80k miles. If you are w/in the limit get them fixed. Otherwise be a responsible car owner and run some highflow cats. Its a measley 2 hp difference between them and open pipes.

Or im sure an exhaust shop could fab one up for you that would work.

Here is a bit of info to chew on about running w/out cats. I was rummaging through some old mags and found the September 2000 issue of Car Craft.
They did a test to see if cats robbed power. Test was on a supercharged 305 5spd on a chassis dyno so all the #'s are RWHP.
w/out cats Max hp: 321.2 Max tq: 356.9
w/cats Max hp: 319.6 Max tq: 364.3 the pull w/the cats netted more torque across the entire RPM range.
This will also help keep the EPA Environazis out of your area too.
