Question How easy is it to get 400 hp from these motors?

I have only had my Camaro for a few weeks and I have always wanted a 400 (crank) hp car. I know These cars make 300 rwhp, so what do I need for 330-340?

To hit 400 rwhp you need bolt-ons (TB, headers, good exhasut, intake) and a strong cam (F1, X1, TR 230, etc) with some tuning. To hit 330 rwhp you just need most of the bolt-ons.

340HP

Lets put it this way
Last year I did back-to-back dynos on a '98 TA we built
The car came in with 298RWHP stock
we did: cam/heads/shorty headers/ catback and the car pulled 405RWHP, passed smog and ldled stock.
WIth the 2002 you would also need to do a computer re-flash.

330-340 is relatively easy to hit ...air box , MAF, and cat back is the first hing i got for my 98 z and it was hittin around 334 or somthing like that i'd have to go look at the sheet.... but those are fairly cheap and easy mods to install yourself....

325rwhp is easy, mine did that with MAF ends only! 400 crank is too easy, you know these cars are way underrated right. GM claims that they have 3256 crank, when in fact that is what most of us are nearly seeing at the rears!

Now 400 at the rear wheels, rather than crank is more challenging! That would require all the basic bolt ons plus either a cam or power adder (n20/blower). The blower would put you over 400rwhp, the N20 you can adjust to meet your needs. If you want to keep it N/A, then the cam is the way to go. With heads and cam you'll have over 400rwhp. Most LS1's with basic bolt on's including LT's are around 340-360rwhp a litter over 400 at the crank.

Damn, I had no idea it was so easy to get to 400 hp. I will be ok with 400 hp at the crank. That is enough to beat 99.9% of the cars out there. Then I might opt for a blue bottle to get that last .01%.
