how does an LS1 ignition Differ from an LT1?

how does an LS1 ignition Differ from an LT1?
I know there is the obvious single coil-per cylinder, but I'll converting to an LTCC system, so I'll eliminate the high res pulse from the opti and will be using LS1 coils and wires, however, my opti still has the low res pulse from the cam and still drives my PCM. What does the LS1 computer use to know when to fire?
