How do you like your Flow Tech LT's?
How do you like your Flow Tech LT's?
I just bought a set today and am wondering how you all like them. How easy were they to install and what kind of gains did you see with them? Thanks.

omega....who?? i have yet to read anyone saying the quality of the new LS1 headers is poor.
i'll admit the welds are not beautiful, but the WORK. and the coating was clean and seemed welll applied.
considering i got coated LTs, ORP, o2 extensions, GM gaskets, and blockoff plates all for about $550 i'm not complaining about a little un-pretty welding.
the fit was PERFECT, the Ypipe bolted up EXACTLY aligned with the holts and i had no problem hitting the frame (could be that i have prothan motor mounts).
the only interferance i encountered was a small piece of excess casting on the side of the block when slidding the driver side in. 30 seconds with a hand hacksaw and it was cured (it is aluminum after all).
check out page 11 of my cardomain site...i did an extensive write up

Re: How do you like your Flow Tech LT's?
The FlowTechs are a more affordable version of the popular Hooker Headers (which Jet-Hot and Pacesetters are based on). FlowTech and Hooker are both a division of Holley, JFYI. We have the FlowTechs on our race car project and they fit just fine, exactly like the Hookers on our SS. I don't know the horsepower increase, but it will be on par with most LT setups, about 20-30 rwhp.
Re: How do you like your Flow Tech LT's?
Yeah I figured it would be about a 20-25rwhp gain. I'm not getting the ORY because I will be running it into a custom true dual set up with x-pipe, bullets, and dumps at the axle
Re: How do you like your Flow Tech LT's?
Mine actually came out really nice. My wife reminds me everyday how nice and shiney they look since they are still on my livingroom floor waiting to go in this weekend, nag nag nag. But seriously, the welds like mentioned before aren't the prettiest they do get the job done and the coating is top notch. And just like teke mentioned $550 for complete headers, extensions, gaskets and y-pipe no complaints here. 6speedZ28, you will find out that the people who bought flowtechs will stick with flowtechs and the people that bought pacesetters will stick with pacesetters. My decision was based on what I could afford and that the company I bought mine from would mail to a APO/FPO mailbox. And in the end I am very happy that I got what I wanted!

i love my flowtech LTs. they did fit pretty well, except i had to pound the floor on the passenger side up like 1/2 inch. but still awesome for the price i paid.
Re: How do you like your Flow Tech LT's?
I've read a few different times on LS1Tech that people have had leaks spring up in the collector welds after a week or two. Really not that hard to fix, though.
