How do you gain HP/TQ from a pulley and is it worth it?

Yuo don't "gain" power, it frees it up. Just like a elec water pump, it frees up power.

 

How much rwhp am I looking at with a pulley?

 

around $230 complete for a crank pulley.

 

i remember seeing the guys from Tbyrne installing the ASP pulley on one of their "test cars" and picked up 8hp. this seems a bit higher than normal. i've always figured about 5hp and maybe a touch more torque..say 7-8 lb-ft.

here is a link to a dyno on an lt1 which shows only about 1hp but 5 lb-ft of torque increase.

it's an expensive mod, particularly for the relative small gains, but if you are looking for simple bolt ons for a little more power. i'd say it's worth it.
