Unhappy How do I remove this?? ? EGR BACK OF MANIFOLD

I recently got my egr /air removal kit from r&d speed
http://www.randdspeed.com/index.php?...oducts_id=1324

The rubber plug, to my knowledge goes in the back of the manifold to block the egr crap. Problem is, I cant get the egr thing off the back. I tried turning, which it turns, I tried pushing it down and turning like a pill bottle, etc... Cant figure it out

If it's for the car in your signature you don't have EGR. The expansion plug in that link is for the EGR tube that connects to the top/front of the LS1 intake on 98-00 cars. You don't need to remove the intake to delete AIR, hope it was already out.

That's your MAP sensor, don't remove it.

Here let me explain it a little better......2001-2002 Fbody's don't have EGR, they only have AIR. The rubber piece in the block off kit goes to an LS1 intake which is only in 1998-2000 Fbodys, 2001-2002 have the LS6 intake. The sensor in the back on the intake is called a MAP sensor, if you want the car to run then don't remove that sensor, just leave it alone.

Here's a picture of an LS1 intake, look at the white arrow i drew in the front, see that hole? That's where that rubber block off piece goes, now go look at your intake and you won't have that hole because it's an LS6 intake.

Ooooooohhhh

good I see now. Yeha i have the ls6 intake. It baffled me and I was looking at the plug and thought that it didnt look right. I took out the unit that was on the driver side head. Kinda looks like a spider with all the tubes coming off it. thats alright to remove if im doing away with emissions right?

Some of it is AIR lines the other ones are for your HVAC controls, so in other words some of it has to be on there i just don't know what. The real small lines are vacuum lines so they need to be on there, epsecially the real small one that goes behind the intake manifold.

You'll know if a vacuum line is off/missing/not plugged if your heat and AC controls won't change the setting and give you only defrost and floor vents.
