Angry how do i remove the E brake handle

Im trying to get my center console off so i can install my new shifter and i need to know how to get the emergency brake handle off. It is being held on by a roll pin screw and i have no clue on how to remove it. Any help would be appreciated.

From what it looks like it's a rivet and you have to drill it out. Then when you go to install it again you'll have to use a screw.

Don't have to pull the handle off to Get Console off or to install new shifter.

What Rick said, you don't have to remove it. Just pull it straight up(as far up as it'll go) and you shouldn't have much trouble getting the console over it.

Whatever you do, do not remove the e-brake. If you need to make it at a 90 degree angle lift the console gently as much as possible. You should be able to see a gear at the base of the brake handle. This is were it ratchets up and stops. You will see a spring loaded block that stops the brake hand at the top of its travel. Lift the handle slightly to get a little slack, and with a long screw driver pop it off the gear and pull the handle up to almost a right angle or just enough to get the console off. Be careful not to break the shifter boot while making this move, if you break it it will cost about $45. Make sure you remove the wire connections and the console should come straight up and off. LOL

You definetly do not need to remove the E-brake to install a shifter. Check out this install documentation at Install University:
