i just got a lid that was made for the 99 model intake and i own an 02. I was told that the tube could be deleted to use the model year lids. How do i delete the tube coming out of the airbod directly after the lid and befor the MAF?

Are you trying to plug the hole in the lid for the air tube? Put a breather filter on the air hose, measure the hole and get an expansion plug. If there's no hole in the lid just get a breather and zip tie the hose out of the way.

 

I heard on another forum about deleting the air pump in all. Any opinions on doing this and what could the possible side effects or down side of this be??

 

If you have stock cats, plan on keeping them, and want to keep the 10yr/120K warranty on them doing !AIR will probably void it.

Removing the air will get you no power at all. It only runs for the first 5 minutes to heat the cats up faster. Aside from 5 pounds off the front of the car and a few less hoses, you gain nothing.

You will also have to pay to have the PCM reprogramed to delete the DTC codes.

Best thing is to get a breather filter and install it on the AIR pump intake. Then you can remove the hose to the air lid alltogether.
