Talking How to catch a snake?

Sorry no pics (took some but I don't know how to post), but anyway I have some ducks in the back yard and a couple lay eggs. Anyway this morning I go out and let the ducks out of their pin and I notices about a 4 foot long snake sitting in one of the nests.

It had brown diamond patterns and no rattle so I'm not exactly sure what it was but I got a rake and pulled it out of the duck's pen (the pen has a roof).

I then got a hoe and was going to just cut the head off, but my gf worked with snakes before (toxicology research) and convinced me other wise (I still smacked the sob a couple times in the head).

So we got a pillow case and I held the snake's head down with the hoe and we fed the back of the snake into the bag and just picked it up. I proceeded to give it a ride in the Z out to the country where we let it go.

The freaky thing is we could see where there was one egg in the snake and it had another in it's mouth and we watched it swallow it , but when I poke it with the hoe, the sob actually spit the egg out...

Good thing the gf was there or that would have been one dead snake...
