Hot headers?

My drivers side header is hot almost right away after I start the car, while thew passenger side remains warm. Is this normal? I want to make sure before I drive the car around town.

If you're worried about a problem between the two sides, pull your plugs. They will tell the true story about what's happening inside your motor.

Plugs are fine. Car runs good. Maybe it just needs a tune. TR230/224 cam.

You're driving around with that cam on a stock tune? I hope you haven't (or at least don't) floor it at all. Besides the timing being off, your AFR is most likely off as well. I'd tread lightly until you get a tune...

Plugs might be fine, but you can usually tell if they look like it's been running lean or rich.

Although, it takes a trained eye. Since the advent of A/F meters and whatnot sparkplug reading isn't as prominent as it used to be.

I would strongly suggest a tune.

The A/F on my car has leaned out just by the addition of the LT headers ... I imagine a bigger cam would only make that more dramatic . FWIW, my car ran ~13.0:1 A/F on the dyno, stock. After just the headers, the A/F was around ~13.5:1.
