High revs, Evil inside!! help

Hi guys. I own a 98 Camaro. Since this afternoon it began doing this strange thing. I try to start it, and after third time (always on first) it turned on. But reving like a mad car up to 2400 rpm. Iīve went down to the highway for some miles, cause I thoght that maybe it was the car trying to compensate for low battery. I guess Iīm wrong, the car continue all the way in 2300-2400 rpm. What could it be wrong? anyone with the same trouble?
The only mods Iīve made is the K&N (still not reoiled) a mufler and also I took the cats out. Please any comment would be helpful

Re: High revs, Evil inside!! help

rear o2 sensors have ABSOLUTELY NO EFFECT on the running condition of the car. only thing they do is light the SES light as warning of a bad cat.

check all the wires

Did you happen to unplug the IAT sensor, or MAF sensor while you were making the change.

Re: High revs, Evil inside!! help

agreed, check to make sure everything is plugged in.

if it is, try unplugging the maf sensor. this will put it into "limp mode" and if it runs alright with it unplugged you could have a faulty maf.

happened to me with an aftermarket zo6 maf....drove fine for months...up and started barely running and hard starting. unplugged the maf and it started and idled fine. switched back to stock and it ran fine since

Re: High revs, Evil inside!! help

Hi, guys thanks for the help. I went to some friendīs workshop and when I stopped I turned the car off. Then my friend ask me to move it so he can put it in place for check it out. The car didnīt start anymore, the battery was totally dead, not even good for recharging. So I bought a new one. Problem solved!. I donīt know if it was something in relation with the battery going dead but the problem is not present any more.
I didnīt change any O2 sensors or simulators. The car is not giving me any code donīt know if this is actually good. hehe..
thank u all.
