I assume when everyone is saying Redhawk mod they are referring to the 3x4 Fernco mod - same thing (not the silicon hose).

You can simply rev the engine while in park (though this isn't something to make a habit of, as it isn't good for the engine) and you'll see the engine twist (naturally...). The engine is designed to twist, but the airlid is not. That's why that accordian bellows is in there. The Fernco fiiting WILL flex somewhat, but not very much. Some guys have run the hose on their car for years without a problem (knowledgable people too, like Raughammer, Redhawk, etc...), but others have cracked the tabs on their airlids, destroying the seal. Have a look as the aftermarket lids and you'll see how fragile they are around the two little tabs on the back... although they are great for smoothing out airflow, they are not as strong as the factory unit lid. Of Course, if you're not putting pressure on the lid, it doesn't matter if it's not very strong.

Try a search on LS1.com or LS1tech.com and you'll see more than a few complaints over the years with the Fernco mod.

the Fernco takes a little bit of heat before it will stretch, but once its on....its on. And like Dark Angel said. Its like 4 bucks. Once again, just as I'm gonna do w/ the .99 cent resistor for the skip shift. I'm gonna start a business!!!

I saw this bellows that Speed Inc sells. It's called the Austin Bellows. Here's a couple of pics.

They're not worth 45 bucks but they look a lot better than that stock thing. This should be sold as an appearance upgrade only!
But talk about a nice profit margin- there must be about 3 dollars worth of manufacturing costs in there.

Every car is diferent. There is no way you can tell if your car will make the same power as his if you have the same mods. Ive seen modded cars dyno less power than stock cars. Every car/engine is different. Also, that flowmasters exhaust you have is a big restriction. Im not trying to knock it, but I have the america thunder cat back on my car too and after getting my cut out installed it definetly woke things up....

so you mean if evercar is diff..

Means that if I put my car on a dyno it might pull 335? I wouldn't think that is likely but could it be possible bec all cars are different..

Every car is different as in, no two cars are exactly the same. Ther are differences in the crankshaft, cam shafts, the blocks, rods, pistons, bolts. And sometimes some parts just produce more power than others. We have a stock 02' Z28 in our local car club that dyno'd 315 rwhp, and we had another stock car dyno 296. Every car is different. And yes there is a dyno in San Jose, lookup Mustang Ranch in Santa Clara, ATP turbo in Fremont, Thunder Alley in San Jose, and Speed Merchant in San Jose. I recomend either ATP Turbo, or Mustang Ranch.
