Here's what I ordered for my Ws6 today...

I ordered the SLP Loudmouth exhaust, SLP Cold Air package and the SLP Mass Air Flow sensor. I have a couple questions. Are these going to be easy to install myself? I have a good selection of tools, jack stands...etc. Will I have to cut anything on the exhaust? Is the Cold air setup easy to install? Lastly, and probably most importantly, will I notice a gain in performance with these mods? I'm hoping for an additional 30 to 40 rwhp gain and high 12 second quarter mile times. Is that possible? My next step will be a set of longtube headers with y-pipe and cats. With these mods, are mid 12's possible?

The exhaust will be the most difficult, as the old one will need to be cut off. I think that 30-40 rwhp is optimistic. I'd be very happy with 20.

Will the new exhaust just slip over the cut stock exahsut or will I need some kind of adapter? Would I be better off having an exahsut shop put it on?

It will unbolt from the Y-pipe, but you will need to cut it where it goes over the rear axle. Your other option would be to drop your rear end.....bad, bad.

We did my Loud Mouth in about two hours or so. You will need to cut the stock exhaust right after the Y-pipe and where it goes over the axle and then lift and pull out from the back. That is the most time consuming part. Bolting the Loud Mouth on was easier to do.

Oh okay, I get it. Sounds easy enough. Just unbolt the old exhaust, cut it to get it over the axle, and install the new one.

Now, after I have these mods install, will it be worth it to have a set of longtubes installed? That I won't be able to do by myself. I found a place that will install them for $400. Plus the $700 cost of headers. They recommended MAC headers. Are they any good?

Too much I take it? When I look at the engine compartment if this car, I can't imagine how it's even possible to change the headers. That's why I figured $400 wasn't too bad.

I imaginne they would install them from underneath on the lift, but I think the average price is a little lower so i would get some more quotes, Dont pay attention to the majoriy of the people on here, they lie thru their teeth when it comes to what they paid to install their mods, i think they try t convince themselves they're not blowing all of their life savings on their car.

All that should be easy to do..as the previous post said..the exhaust will be the hardest... but take your time and it isnt all that hard..put the rear on ramps and jacks. To make things go the easiest...just sawz-all the old SOB in two spots...just on each side of the rear axle as it goes over it. Also...especially where the stock exhaust meets the y-pipe...sock the bolts in penetrating oil for a few minutes first ..makes it come apart easier. To be honest ..the hardest part is trying to get everything to look level coming out of the rear end..not really hard...but alot of getting out from under the car and looking ...and getting back under and moving it a little...good luck

I doubt you'll see 30-40hp gain. more like 20rwhp. the loud mouth won't be a dramatic gain over the stock WS6 exhaust. I would have bought diff lid. the aftermarket lids are showing gains over the SLP. you Really don't need the MAF. they don't work well with the '01-'02 cars. it makes them run lean.

Yeah, 30-40rwhp is little high...20rwhp sounds about right (you might get a little more though, never know). Also, you may be (probably are) better off with the stock MAF (as Rick said) but since you already spent the money, put it on a see if you get anything from it. If not, you can always throw the stock MAF back on and try to sell the SLP.

$400 for headers is pretty close. Most places will tell you it's about an 8 hour job and I think $40-50 an hour is the norm so...$400. However, if you know what you're doing, you should be able to do it in about 4-6 hours...and I'm sure most shops could do it in that amount of time but I'm sure they like making as much $$ as they can so they'll take their time (7-8 hours).

BTW, with the right tools, this is something you should be able to do. It's not the easiest job but certainly not the most difficult.
