Nope. You can just remove the EGR and use a block-off plate, but without LS1 Edit you will have a SES light. It won't hurt anything, just be annoying. I removed the AIR and EGR and the car runs better than ever.

EGR FIX

The fix for the Z06 intake I used was to find 01 vin number and re-flash my pcm with the newer calibration. The only major issues are: the other car needs the same gauges, gear etc.

Late model Ls-1's never had the egr valve. I made my own block off plate for the exhaust.

Well your best option is just to remove the EGR from the car all together it robs horsepower and obviously you are trying to obtain more. My buddy removed the EGR on is '00 Z and he didnt get a Check Engine light or anything. Also for blocking off your headers www.ls1speed.com sells EGR block off plates im sure other places sell them but this is the only one I know of. Also removing EGR pump will save you some weight I believe its located underneath one of the fuse panels under the hood, just follow the hose. If you do need to have your PCM reprogrammed you might as well have some custom tuning done for a little more you'll pick up idle quality and horsepower.
