Exclamation Help! SES light is on!

I installed my FIPK today, everything was fine, i drove it around after the install with no problems. However, after i took it out again after 15 minutes of driving, the SES light came on. Why? BTW i DID NOT reset the computer after install if that might have anything to do with it.

FIPK= Fuel Injection Performance Kit, by K&N. This replaces that restrictive *** lid and system on the F-bodies. If your SES light is on, then your best bet to remove it is to reset the PCM.

SES - FIPK

I wondered about this b4 as my SES light came on 2 times in the last 4 months. Currently it is NOT on. So how does this effect the SES as I was told my code is a P1416 - Secondary Air Check valve. I have NOT reset the PCM and would bet it will come back on in another 1800 miles or so. When I sugested the FIPK had something to do with the SES in a previous post I was riduculed. I'd like to know if any damage is being done with the FIPK-K&N.

The only thing I heard was the hot air being drawn in from that part of the engine without the box there...

Sounds like one of your AIR pipes has a problem...maybe a leak. Have you done a spark plug change recently? Usually when you change your plugs your discconnect the AIR pipes and move them out of the way...maybe your gasket is leaking.

Go under the hood and make sure you pluged all the sensors back in...especially the IAT sensor(on the intake elbow before the MAF sensor). A lot of people forget to plug this back in....I have before. The FIPK should not throw any codes. Only thing that could also have happened is there was too much oil on your K&N filter and it coated your MAF sensor with oil. Clean off the sensor VERY GENTELY!
