Hey man I've been there, it will work out. Luckily, at least where I am, Camaro (Corvette in my case) season is over, and you have a few months of winter to get your stuff together. Look in the for sale section, check LS1tech too, there's used shortblocks that go for cheap all the time. It's cheaper than rebuilding, plus it will give you something to do. And if you think worn rings are bad, look what I did to my car








Yes, I broke 7 valves. I win!

All I have to say is OUCH!!!! That is definitely worse than mine. The only problem with me is that with all the bills I already have I can't afford to put anything into this car. My wife has been borrowing my Grandmother's car for the past 3 weeks so I could use hers, but she needs it back and we do not have another car to use. With our work schedules there is no way possible to survive on 1 car.

You can get a stock shortblock for pretty cheap.

If not, you can always buy a $1000 beater and drive it to work while you save up for the shortblock or re-ring project.
