Cam bearings might be toast.

This would probably receive more responses if posted in LS1 Tech...

If your engine is knocking, a bearing probably ran dry somehow...perhaps due to the reduced oil pressure. Get ready for a rebuild.

What kinda of knocking are we talking about here? Are we talking about a loud scary knock? Or just a quite knock? Does the knock kinda follow your lope and RPM's?

Mine just just went into the sh!tter as well and it was due to rod knock. Which I believe was caused by a bad ring since I was chugging oil like it was a keg at a frat party (went through 5qts in a month). It sounds like a LOUD knock comming from the engine bay. If it is this............. well um you may want to start pricing out forged parts.

But considering you just put a cam in there I would look around that area first. Look at your valvetrain to start. Was this installed by a shop or did you do it yourself?

Have you thought about taking your car back to these "professionals" and have them diagnose it?

well i have been happy with them in the past but this time i got pissed.....

they have done good work for me in the past.....but this time
lets go thru my day of getting the car......
1. my aftermarket tach only works when my lights are off
2. nitrous switches didnt work at all
3. when i wanted to autotap my car neither of the cigerette lighters worked.....
4. and my autotap will not connect to the car.......

and now this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i know how u feel, well when my brother brought his car to finish line performance to get is header leak fix, which his headers where leaking due to poor quality installation from speed inc..the exhaust tech looked at it and guess what the leak was..it was from the pass side header flange that was open and in the middle was a nut so that the flanges won't move around..the two flanges both had the bolts on but, i gues that the lazy *** tech didn't finish the job cause when the two bolts mated up there was still a gap and still moving, so what they did was shoved a nut in the middle so both the flanges would't move..what kind of installantion is that? thats poor quality work from speed inc..
