ok i did a v6 to ls1 swap .... my car is over heating ive replaced the water pump ie replaced the thermostat... and yes ts the v8 radiator the car it was in befor i started had no overheating problems at all
hell i even changed the air dam tis car heats up way past half i put the fans on a manual switch to help out but the car still heats up when im on the free way i have to turn on the heat to cool the car down if i get on the gas it heats up faster i would think thers more air commin in that it would run cooler i dont understand whats going on ....... ive replaced everything but the radiator i had it tested and its fine man o man this is getting on my nerves is there supposed to be a plastic shiel infront of the radiator /a/c condenser

Whew!
Well, first off you figured right with the freeway driving. In most cases a failing mechanical fan clutch or electric fan motor only allows the car to overheat when at idle. Once you're driving down the road the air rushing through it is enough to provide the necessary heat removal from your radiator.
Are you 100% positive the radiator has no pluggage? I've been in that boat before- completely stumped only to find out my radiator was 80% clogged up. A trip to my local radiator shop who rodded it out was all that was needed.
The simpliest thing would be some air trapped in your cooling system? It's easy to do this. Does your car have the throttle body coolant bypass mod? This makes it easy to get all the air out if so.
Anyway, post your latest findings on your overheating problem for us.
Good luck,
Ben

Re: Help need some real brain power in here
Thank you for your help Studytime. Well my first finding was that my air dam was not complete...... so I found the other piece and installed it ........ To no avail I will take your advice and go to a radiator shop..... I let the engine run with the top off of the radiator and I watched the air bubble out for almost 15 mins till it stopped... then i filled it ..... i guess there has to be something clogging my radiator .... Because even after my air dam is completely installed it still heats up grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr this is on my nerves..
