help with cutouts

Hi, I really know nothing about exhaust systems and I don't want to spend all the money on a new y pipe or any of that so I figured cutouts would be the cheap easy route for a few more hp. I was looking at flowtech cutouts at texas-speed.com and they are 35-40 bucks which sounds pretty good to me. Are these any good? If they are how do i know which size to get (2.5, 3, 3.5) I have stock exhaust now. And finally, where should they go on the car..i hear people talking about before cats or muffler and all this stuff and I would like to know the pros and cons of each location..thanks for your help.

Havent seen anyone with the cutout before the cat, but if they did Im pretty sure they would have problems with a)warranty work and b)interior noise. I have mine underneath the rear-passenger seat and the interior vibrates like crazy from there. I cant imagine what it would be right underneath the front. And youre gonna want a 3" cutout.

Flowtech is good, and supposedly their is a spot before the rear axle on the passenger side where it fits perfectly.

I'd think if you ran them before the cats you may set off a SES light.

Check summit racing. You can get their cut outs for $26 and they're made by flowtech.
