Question Help! Car won't start

I have a 2000 vert SS, about 104,000 miles with no major problems. I had to replace the battery and positive battery cable awhile back (due to corrosion) and everything has been great till tonight. The car wouldn't start. All the panel lights came on, but when I turned the key, nothing but one click. I was able to pop the clutch to get home. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

If it's cold out I'd have the Batt. load tested. The cold puts a lot of strain on the Batt. That's why the CCA rating of a batt is higher. Probably just needs a new battery. Mabie stick it on a trickle charge of like two amps over night, then run it down to the auto place the next morning. Have them run a load test on it. That's my two cents........

OK, thanks... I will see if the shop can run a load test. The battery is a new Optima red top... bought it because we had a spell of cold weather and ice and it took a toll on the old battery. My initial thought was the starter but I had a friend say something about maybe the ignition is going bad. Any thoughts?

Ive heard that if there isnt a full 12volt source that our F-bodies wont run. That came from a friend that races semi professionally and works at O'Reillys. Had one that read 11.3 volts and it wouldnt fire to save its life. Just something to keep an eye on...
