i have just recently bought a 1999 z28 ls1. i love the car but it has some bugs that need to be worked out. for starters when i go into reverse my reverse lights do not come on. secondly all my lights surge from bright to dim. also i have a lil back fire when i let off the gas and tap it again i have a crane cams tuner....



mods are cat back greddy intake? and k&n intake,

 

 

Nice car and welcome to the forum. Does the car have the check engine light one?

 

no check engine light.... the back fire is more of a gurgle

 

Do you have cats? As for the reverse lights it might just be the bulbs so try that, if not then it could be the backup light switch

The lights surging is your alternator on its way out. It has some bad diodes and is not putting out the amperage it should.

 

Did you check the bulbs in your backup lamps? Sounds stupid but you never know. I would pull out that tuner tune, too. That could be causing issues.

yea im going back to stock tune also i need a new rack and pinion they have 2 diffrent ones which one should i buy. the one with firm handling suspension or with out the firm handling and suspension
