Question Heads/cam or supercharger

Hi everyone

I wanted to run something by you all. About this time next year I will probably have a second car as a daily driver. This will give me an excuse to "play" with my Z. I want "more power". I was thinking I could port the heads and install a new cam. This should give me the power I'm hoping for ( 350-380 RWHP with simular RWTQ numbers) and be reliable.

Option two is install a supercharger. Instant power increase, just more money. However, I don't want to condemn my engine to a short life. Also I am concerned that a supercharger with cause overheating on longer drives ( I sometimes go on 8 hour road trips).

Here is the final catch. I live in California so which mod I go with it must be CARB legal. I believe vortech has a CARB legal system (with reasonable boost levels) but I am not sure about the porting of the heads. Choice of cams is limited also. Please give me some input

I don't want much I just want the fastest car that won't break down And is CARB legal.

Thanks in advance
